If you and the little one are stuck indoors for the day, don’t panic! Fun indoor games for kids, that don’t involve the TV or a tablet, are just a few crafty tricks away. Here are a few kids games to get you going and make those rainy days feel like sunshine.
Turn those sad, lonely socks who’ve lost their other halves, into fun sock puppets for your kids! All you need are two buttons for the eyes and a cut- out in the shape of a tongue from a piece of paper. It’s simple, cost-effective and oodles of fun!
Let your imagination run wild and set up a simple treasure hunt inside. Hide little clues all around the house, draw up a map and watch your kids have the time of their lives discovering the treasures. You can even hide a large prize for them to find at the end, as an extra bonus.
This is probably the easiest indoor game you could enjoy with your kids. Simply make shapes on the floor with the masking tape and have fun re-living your own childhood as well!
Pass down an age old tradition to your own little ones. All you have to do is balance a few cushions against your couch and use a big blanket to make the roof. Kids will love the feeling of having a little cave that they can hide in and it’s a great way to bond with them.
The best thing about this one is that both these things are probably already in your cupboards! Place little dollops of shaving cream on a plate and simply mix in food colouring. It’s fun, easy and is ideal for bathtime painting as it washes off walls and surfaces easily.
Get crafty and create a paddle game with your little one that lets them have a blast indoors. To make two paddles, stick paper plates to ice cream sticks, then blow up a ballon and enjoy batting it back and forth. Get them to create a team name and symbol and draw it onto their paper plate for some extra fun.
Creating a fun atmosphere inside the house doesn’t have to be a fancy affair. All it takes is a little bit of imagination and some teamwork to make it happen! Once you get going, your kids will enjoy themselves so much, that they’ll forget they’re not outside!
