Society Vanilla Cappuccino Custard

Ingredients

1 Cup Milk

4 Egg Yolks

1 Cup Thickened Cream

⅓ Cup Sugar

1 Vanilla Pod

1 TBSP Corn Flour

2 TBSP Society Vanilla Cappuccino Powder

Method

  1. Cut the vanilla pod in half lengthways and scrape out the seeds
  2. Pour the milk and cream into a saucepan and stir over a medium heat, then add the pod and seeds. Stir constantly for about 5 minutes or until the milk mixture is hot, however do not let it boil
  3. Once the milk mixture has heated up, place the saucepan aside from the stove and remove the pod
  4. In a heat-proof bowl, add the egg yolks, sugar, Society Vanilla Cappuccino powder and corn flour, then whisk until all ingredients are combined
  5. Slowly pour the milk mixture into the egg mixture while continuously whisking
  6. Once combined pour the mixture into a saucepan and stir consistently over a low heat for about 15 - 20 minutes, or until the custard thickens. Be careful not to let the custard boil, as this will cause it to curdle
  7. Once the custard has thickened, remove it from the stove, then you can serve hot or place it in the fridge and serve cold
